At last. A voice for riders.

The London Transit Riders Alliance will aim to support, improve, and increase public transit use in London. The specific projects and activities that we undertake will be guided by a board of citizens, and implemented in collaboration with community partners wherever possible. For now, a brief overview of some of the key goals of the LTRA:

    STRENGTHEN THE VOICE OF RIDERS

Transit affects everyone. So there are many competing opinions at every decision point, and transit riders deserve as strong a voice as others. We'll keep riders aware of opportunities to have a say, and help bring their concerns and suggestions to both the LTC and the City of London.

    BUST THE STIGMA OF RIDERSHIP

Even though public transit use has many benefits, a lot of Londoners still think it's only useful when people don't have a "better" way to travel. We'll work to demonstrate why transit is the mode of choice for many Londoners with options, and encourage more people to make that choice.

    BUILD COMMUNITY AMONG RIDERS

We spend a lot of time together, but don't usually feel very connected, do we? There are car clubs, cycling organizations, and walking groups. Riders can build community, too, and make public transit a more inviting, safe, and comfortable place.
